Funding Program for Elixir and Erlang Speakers

The Elixir Outreach program, backed by Dashbit, Oban, and the Erlang Ecosystem Foundation, aims to promote Elixir and Erlang by funding community members who wish to present at events outside the usual gatherings. Through this initiative, up to $700 in hotel and transportation costs will be covered for speakers at events with at least 150 attendees that do not focus on Elixir or Erlang specifically. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences through reports, blog posts, or articles. The program hopes to cultivate connections beyond the existing community by facilitating knowledge transfer, although it emphasizes regional events to maximize budget efficiency. Interested speakers must apply through the EEF website and validate their event before submitting their requests. This is a new endeavor, and the organizers are seeking feedback as they refine the process.
