Introduction to Bondy, an Open Source Application Networking Platform

Alejandro Ramallo presents Bondy at Code BEAM Europe 2023. Bondy is an open-source networking platform designed to facilitate communication within distributed applications. It integrates service and event mesh capabilities, incorporating service authentication, fine-grained authorization, service discovery, routed remote procedure calls (RPC), and publish/subscribe mechanisms. Bondy supports an open, simple, and secure application networking protocol, the Web Application Messaging Protocol (WAMP). Written in Erlang, Bondy uses Partisan for scalable clustering. Ramallo explains the complexities of connecting various devices and services in a distributed system, highlighting Bondy’s ability to streamline these processes with a universal protocol that facilitates bidirectional communications.
