Kanta - A Translation Management Tool for Elixir & Phoenix Applications

Curiosum's team has developed an open-source library called Kanta, aimed at simplifying translation workflows in Elixir & Phoenix web apps. It addresses common challenges faced when managing translations such as needing external tools, explaining translation processes to non-technical staff, exchanging .po files with translators, spotting untranslated keys, and deploying app updates for new translations. Kanta is integrated with gettext, requires no code changes to implement, and comes with additional plugins like DeepL for automatic key translations and PO Writer for exporting .po files. This tool is particularly beneficial for non-developers involved in translation, as it allows for translation edits through a UI without demanding app version releases.
