Release of Bandit and Thousand Island 1.0.0

Mat Trudel discusses his personal journey of developing the Bandit and Thousand Island libraries, starting from a mock concept to reaching their mature state. Trudel outlines the release schedule from proof of concept in late 2019 to the recent 1.0.0 release, noting key stages and challenges faced along the way, including periods of intense development preceding conference presentations. Despite starting the pre-release series early, which limited community testing, progress continued. The libraries have been featured in conferences and podcasts, receiving contributions from the Elixir community. With the 1.0.0 release, the project looks forward to future enhancements, such as support for WebSockets over HTTP/2, protocol switching, NIF/Rustler-based optimizations, improvements to enable gRPC-style connections, and eventually, HTTP/3 support. Trudel expresses gratitude for the community's support and encourages others to pursue their project ideas.
